Bill Mehle – The first coach of the Maynard program after its reinstatement. He led the team through a difficult first year to several winning seasons. He left the program after the ‘53-’54 season.
Mell Kupferschmidt – Took over the team after Mehle’s departure. “Coach Koop” led the team to several successful seasons, including the ‘55-’56 state championship. He was admired by his players and always worked to challenge the team while appreciating the importance of team chemistry.
Irene Harrington – A third-grade teacher in Maynard, she served as the team chaperone and the team used her home room as their locker room during home games. She helped the team maintain focus by restricting outside access during the heady days at the 1956 State Tournament.
